Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (RPAL)

Overview

Ed Hubbell is a designated CFSC/CRFSC instructor in the province of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. Within that region he is available to attend your location to present the firearms safety course and associated exams, and certify the RCMP CFP Course Report that is required to be included with all new firearms license applications. Courses are taught privately to small groups no larger than 12 persons, and are completed in one half day.

Ed is available to travel to your location with all materials to teach the course. This is a minimum 6 hr, non-shooting course using disabled firearms and dummy ammunition, making it suitable to be held in boardrooms, training centres, workshops or other suitable venues with controlled access to members of the public.

Note: this cost is based on local training within the Prince George, BC area. For travel to your location, additional charges will apply.

Safety as a priority for all aspects of firearms ownership and usage. Statistics and scenarios involving safety in public and in the home. Learn the additional legal requirements for owning restricted firearms.

Firearms and Ammunition Components

Overview of each of the nonrestricted action types, the various components, ammunition and accessories available.

Operating and Handling of Restricted Firearms

Practical education on the operation and handling of restricted firearms. Learn how to use and transport, as well as an introduction to the various shooting stances and body positions. Learn the additional transportation requirements for restricted firearms.

Maintenance and Storage of Firearms and Ammunition

Learn how to inspect and maintain your equipment. When to open and clean your firearm, and when to take it to a qualified professional for maintenance or repair. Safety considerations while maintaining firearms in the home.

Legal and Ethical Responsibilities of the Firearms Owner

Learn the legal and responsibilities of a nonrestricted firearms owner, ad what ethical expectations are imparted on license holders. Learn how and when to seek professional assistance for public safety, and how to reduce theft and other firearms related criminal activities.
